Even though it is quite the cliché, I have always wanted to leave the world better than I found it. If I can use what I have to help lighten someone's load or make their life easier, then I feel that it's my responsibility to do so. Imagine if every single person on the planet (or, heck, the city!) shared that feeling! When we focus on the community rather than the individual, amazing things happen.

What specific causes inspire you?
I'm interested in supporting and advocating for causes that make daily life more equitable for all.
Why have you chosen to partner with City Care?
I trust City Care to competently and compassionately do the work that needs to be done. Their staff is made up of experts who are first and foremost kind--putting others' needs first, always. They stand in the gap and provide essential services that focus on the whole person: housing, life skills, physical health, mental health, financial planning, support systems, and breaking cycles of dependency and abuse.
How and when were you first introduced to City Care?
I got involved with City Care when they were planning their first Odyssey Project fundraiser in 2017 and was asked to help out with the logistics committee. I have been fortunate to be able to use my love of spreadsheets, design, details, and organization to help introduce more people to the amazing work that City Care is doing each year, and I am honored to serve as one of the co-chairs of the 2021 event!
Is there anything else you'd like people to know?
Giving back is not just about providing a large financial donation. Whether it's volunteering at the Night Shelter, giving $5 to $10 every month, or simply re-sharing City Care's posts on your social media, everyone has the opportunity to make a positive impact in their community. Start small! I promise it's worth it.
Thank you to our City Care Collective Members.
To those who give faithfully to our most vulnerable neighbors, who join us month in and month out to meet the needs of those living in the margins of our community, who sustain us and motivate us and encourage us, thank you. We are so grateful for you.
