We are thrilled and honored to share that City Care has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Bezos Day 1 Families Fund, a deeply meaningful investment in our community’s children and parents who are navigating what are often the most difficult moments of their lives. Families are one of the fastest-growing people groups experiencing homelessness in our state, and every day we meet steadfast mothers, fathers, and caregivers who are doing everything they can to keep their families safe. This award is both a recognition of their resilience and a reflection of what becomes possible when a community chooses not to look away.

Across each of our emergency shelters, supportive services and affordable housing programs, we see the same truth again and again: families need, they deserve, more than a temporary place to stay. Every neighbor is deserving of housing, food, health and income stability, along with an empowered pathway forward where they can walk out their own journey to flourishing.

These funds will allow us to expand the ways we show up for families around us. They will strengthen and broaden the supports that prevent homelessness before it begins, creating new opportunities for long-term stability and wellbeing. While we will share more details in the months ahead, we are responding quickly, compassionately, and strategically to these urgent crises.

We are profoundly grateful to the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund for believing in the work happening here in Oklahoma, and for their trust in the families we serve. But this moment also belongs to you: our partners, volunteers, staff, advocates, and neighbors whose support has carried us through years of change, growth, uncertainty, and hope. We believe that homelessness is a community issue that deserves a community response, and we will not stop until every neighbor has a place to call home.

Thank you for being part of this mission to strengthen our city by breaking the cycles of hardship and deep poverty one person and one family at a time.

 With gratitude,
